The 917 is one of Porsche's most famous early sports prototype race cars and gave the German manufacturer its first overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. It had a flat-twelve engine capable of 630 hp in Le Mans guise, which would push the car from 0–60 in 2.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 246 mph. It's wedge shape is as iconic as the come and is today regarded as a racing classic.
